Pan-American Life Tops $1B In Revenue, Premiums For 2016

Pan-American Life Insurance Group in New Orleans topped $1 billion in revenue and total premiums for the first time during 2016.

The company said its revenue increased 25.7 percent and premiums by 17 percent for the year.

Net income for 2016 increased 38 percent to $48.9 million, compared with $35.3 million the year before.

Premiums for its four business units were international life insurance, $265 million; U.S. life, $237 million, international group insurance, $326 million; and U.S. group, $237 million.

"Our sustained top and bottom line growth positions us to continue strengthening our legacy across the Americas in 2017 and beyond," said José S. Suquet, chairman, president and CEO.

Pan-American provides insurance and financial services throughout the Americas. The New Orleans-based group is comprised of more than 20 member companies and employs more than 1,700 worldwide.
