COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ State Auto Financial Corp. (STFC) on Thursday reported a second-quarter loss of $24.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Columbus, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 59 cents. Losses, adjusted for investment gains, came to 69 cents per share.
The insurance holding company posted revenue of $342 million in the period.
State Auto Financial shares have risen almost 10 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 6 percent in the last 12 months.
