LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Mercury General Corp. (MCY) on Monday reported second-quarter net income of $48.9 million.
On a per-share basis, the Los Angeles-based company said it had net income of 88 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 35 cents per share.
The auto insurance company posted revenue of $812.6 million in the period.
Mercury General shares have climbed 19 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped almost 2 percent in the last 12 months.
