Martin Wheatley resigns from FCA before end of contract after criticism over confrontational style in tackling banks and the City
Martin Wheatley, the tough-talking head of Britain’s financial watchdog, has quit after George Osborne said his contract would not be renewed next spring.
Wheatley will leave the the Financial Conduct Authority later this year after helping set up and spearhead the chancellor’s beefed-up regulator in its first two years.
